Winter is the perfect time to gather, cook, and share comfort food, and this past month, that’s exactly what we did. From rich roasts to cultural classics, our cooking classes have been full of flavour, fun, and friendship. Let’s take a look back at the delicious journey.
Week 1: Hearty Winter Favourites
Roast Lamb, Yorkshire Puddings & More
We kicked off the month with everyone’s favourite winter warmers: roast lamb with all the trimmings, Yorkshire puddings, nachos, and rich chocolate puddings. Participants learned the secrets of crispy roast potatoes and perfectly risen Yorkshire batter.
Week 2: Comfort Classics from Scratch
Homemade Pasta, Bread & Soup
This week was all about homemade goodness. We rolled out fresh pasta, baked homemade bread, and mastered a comforting lasagna. The chicken noodle soup was a favourite, simple, nourishing, and perfect for chilly evenings.
Week 3: Street Food Meets Schoolyard Treats
Potatoes, Fritters & Scrolls
From baked potatoes and banana fritters to freshly baked cinnamon scrolls, this week was full of nostalgic fun. We wrapped it up with a tasty chicken stir fry that was as quick as it was satisfying.
Week 4: A Culinary World Tour
Cordon Bleu, Cheesecake & Calzones
Our final week took us around the globe. We made:
- Crispy chicken cordon bleu
- Creamy cheesecakes
- Traditional apple strudel
- Savoury calzones
It was a true celebration of food, culture, and togetherness, from sourcing ingredients to sharing meals around the table.
More Than Just a Meal
Our cooking classes offer more than recipes. They build:
- Confidence and independence
- Friendships and connection
- Healthy eating habits
- Real-life skills for everyday life
Whether you’re a first-time cook or just love good food, everyone is welcome in our kitchen.
