Week 9 of our Cooking Program has been an exciting one, despite having a slightly smaller group this week. On the menu, we had sushi, fried rice, and lemonade scones. These delicious dishes brought out the creativity and skills of our participants, and the kitchen was filled with the vibrant energy of food preparation.

However, we did miss one of our regulars.  Nick has secured himself a kitchen hand job at an Italian restaurant! We are beyond thrilled for him and couldn’t be prouder. While we’re sad to see him leave our classes, we’re over the moon that he’s following his passion and gaining real-world experience. Congratulations, Nick!

With only three weeks left in our program, we’re gearing up for the grand finale: a graduation event that will showcase all the incredible skills our participants have learned. The event will feature a three-course meal prepared by our very own KDS chefs. Each participant will talk about the dishes they’ve created and share what they’ve enjoyed most about the program in a live interview. It’s a celebration of growth, learning, and newfound independence—an event you won’t want to miss.

This graduation event will also serve as a great opportunity for family members, support coordinators, and anyone interested in joining or referring someone to the next round of classes. Stay tuned for more details about the event, as spots are limited!
